Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 19, 2026
Proreerfolio ("Proreerfolio", "we", "us") is an independently operated service,
run from California by its owner, that helps you build a career portfolio and
generate career documents with AI assistance. Career documents are personal by nature — your resume
contains your name, work history, and contact details — so we keep this policy
specific about what we collect, why, and who touches it. This policy applies to
proreerfolio.com and the Proreerfolio app.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: your name, email address, password (handled by our authentication provider — we never see or store your password), and optional preferences such as your preferred name and how you'd like to be referred to.
- Portfolio and resume content: everything you add to your portfolio or upload — resumes, work experiences, skills, education, certifications, publications, contact details, and any personal information contained inside those documents. This is the heart of the Service and its most sensitive data; treat what you upload accordingly, and don't upload other people's personal information without their permission.
- Messages to the assistant: what you type to the in-app chat assistant, and what visitors type to your public Q&A agent if you enable it.
Information collected automatically
- Usage records: which AI features you run, the computing credits they consume, and generated results saved to your account.
- Public profile visits: a daily count of visits to your public profile page. We count visits; we do not build visitor profiles.
- Technical logs: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps, errors) used for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies and local storage: used only to keep you signed in and remember app preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the Service: store your portfolio, render your pages, and generate the documents you ask for.
- To run AI features: when you use an AI feature, the relevant portions of your portfolio or uploaded document are sent to our AI model providers to produce the result. We do not use your content to train AI models. The AI providers process that content under their own privacy policies and may retain or use it — including, with some providers, to improve their models — as their policies describe.
- To improve the Service: we may use content you choose to publish on your public profile — with direct identifiers such as your name and contact details removed — to analyze how our features and workflows perform and improve the product experience for everyone. We use this de-identified published content for product improvement only, we do not use it to train AI models, and we will not attempt to re-identify it.
- To meter and bill usage: we track credit consumption per account, and — when paid plans are available — process subscription payments through a payment processor.
- To secure and support the Service: debugging, abuse prevention, and responding when you contact us.
- To comply with law and protect our rights: meeting legal obligations (such as tax record-keeping) and establishing or defending legal claims.
We keep AI prompts lean by design: workflows send the model only the portfolio
fields a feature needs, and contact details (email, phone) are excluded from
AI provider requests.
3. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it
with anyone for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only
with:
- Service providers who process it on our behalf and only as needed to run the Service: cloud hosting and database (Google Cloud), authentication (Google Firebase), AI model providers (currently OpenRouter, with Ollama Cloud as an alternate backend), and — for paid plans — a payment processor (your card details go to the processor directly and never touch our servers).
- Anyone you choose to share with: your public profile page, when enabled, makes the content you chose to publish visible to anyone with the link, and the public Q&A agent (off by default) answers visitor questions from that published content. Both are toggles you control in the app, and you can limit how much computing budget visitors may use. Publishing has consequences you cannot reverse — read Section 4 before you enable it.
- Legal requirements: if we're required to disclose information by law, or to protect the Service, our users, or others from fraud or abuse.
- Business transfer: if the Service changes hands (for example, incorporation of the business or an acquisition), your information transfers with it under the same commitments; we'll notify you of any such change.
4. Publishing a public profile page
Your public profile page and the public Q&A agent are separate features and
both are off by default. Your portfolio stays private to your
account until you enable publishing under Tools › Publishable Site.
Turning either on is an affirmative decision to disclose the portfolio content you
have marked visible to the general public, and you should treat that content as
permanently public from that moment forward.
While the public profile page is enabled, the published content — which may
include your name, employment history, employers, education, skills,
credentials, and any contact details you mark visible — is served to
anyone holding the link, without authentication. We do not
restrict who may view it and we do not apply search-engine exclusion directives
to it. In consequence, and by design, published content may be:
- indexed, displayed, and excerpted by search engines and other automated crawlers;
- copied, cached, quoted, screenshotted, or republished by third parties, including web archives such as the Internet Archive;
- retained indefinitely in caches, indexes, archives, and datasets that we neither control nor can compel to delete; and
- collected by third parties for purposes we do not authorize and cannot prevent, including the training of machine-learning models.
Publication cannot be undone. Disabling the public page, editing
the content, or deleting your account stops us from serving that content going
forward and removes it from our systems on the schedule in Section 5, but has no
effect on copies already made by others. We cannot retrieve, correct, or delete
those copies, and we do not undertake to attempt it.
To the extent applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis for this
processing, that basis is your consent, given by the affirmative
act of enabling the feature and withdrawable at any time by disabling it, with
the forward-only effect described above. The consequences of publication are
stated on the Publishable Site page in the app, where the setting is turned on.
You further acknowledge that information you make manifestly public in this
manner may fall outside protections that would otherwise attach to it: under the
California Consumer Privacy Act, "personal information" excludes publicly
available information, defined to include information a business reasonably
believes was lawfully made available to the general public by the consumer
(Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140(v)(2)). Your rights as to the copy we hold are
unaffected and remain exercisable under Section 6; those rights cannot, however,
reach copies held by third parties.
The optional public Q&A agent, when enabled, answers visitors' questions
from your published content and may therefore restate that content in wordings
you have not individually reviewed. Review what is published before enabling it,
and do not leave published anything you would be unwilling to have permanently
associated with your name.
5. Retention and deletion
- We keep your information while your account is active.
- You can edit or remove portfolio content at any time in the app.
- You can delete your account from account settings. Deletion removes your account, portfolio, resumes, generated documents, chat history, and usage records from the live database immediately, and from routine backups within 30 days.
- Technical server logs are kept for a short, rolling period for security and troubleshooting and then deleted or anonymized.
- Billing records we're legally required to keep (for example, tax records of payments) are retained as required by law. Where a longer period applies, how long we keep information depends on its sensitivity, why we hold it, and whether it is needed to comply with law, prevent fraud or abuse, or establish or defend legal claims.
- If the Service ever shuts down, we will notify you in advance (see the Terms of Service), keep export available during the notice period, and then delete personal data on the same schedule as an account deletion.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction: your portfolio is yours to view and edit in the app at any time, and generated documents can be downloaded.
- Deletion: use in-app account deletion, or email us and we'll delete your data.
- California residents: we honor requests to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, and to delete it — email support@proreerfolio.com and we'll respond within 45 days. You may also use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf (we may verify the request with you directly). We will never discriminate against you — in price, service quality, or otherwise — for exercising any of these rights. We don't sell or share personal information as defined by California law, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Do Not Track: we don't track you across other websites, and like most services we do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals — there's nothing here they would turn off.
- Limit on these rights: we can act only on the copy of your information that we hold. Rights of access, correction, and deletion do not extend to content you chose to publish through your public profile page and that has since been copied, indexed, cached, or archived by third parties — see Section 4.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted
storage on our cloud provider, authentication through Google Firebase, and
access controls that keep backend services private. No online service can
guarantee perfect security, so use a strong, unique password.
8. Children
The Service is for adults building professional careers and is not directed to
children. You must be 18 or older to use it, and we do not knowingly collect
information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account,
contact us and we will delete it.
9. Where data is processed
The Service is operated from the United States and your information is stored
and processed in the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you
understand your information is transferred to and processed in the U.S.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above; for material
changes we'll notify you by email or an in-app notice before they take effect.
